FLORIDA ALFA Honors Representative Ahern with
Legislator of the Year Award
Tallahassee, FL – The Florida Chapter of the Assisted Living Federation of America (FL ALFA) today presented Representative Larry Ahern (R-Seminole) with a Legislator of the Year award during a ceremony at Freedom Square, a Brookdale senior living community in Seminole, FL.
“Receiving the Legislator of the Year award from FL ALFA is a tremendous honor,” said Representative Larry Ahern. “Their professional organization is a strong advocate for assisted living facilities and quality senior care. Almost 100,000 Floridians call an assisted living facility home. I will continue working together with all stakeholders in the ALF community, where we can pass meaningful ALF reforms that will protect our seniors and uphold their quality of life.”
“We are thrilled to present Representative Ahern with a Legislator of the Year award today,” said Gail Matillo, executive director of FL ALFA. Representative Ahern, who sponsored legislation to reform assisted living facilities last session, is a tireless advocate for our state’s seniors and is dedicated to ensuring they are well protected in their communities and have the best quality of life possible.
